Crazy Idea for 788s??

Has anyone else ever considered a custom rifle built on the 788 action? Has anyone ever even seen one ? The iidea is appealing to me because of the great accuracy of these rifles. I'm not too sure I care for the idea of the magazine sticking out the bottom of it, but I guess I could always remove it when I want to admire the lines. But the real beauty of 788s, at least to me, is those iddy-biddy groups they can shoot. :D

If anyone has a custom 788, I'd sure like to see a photo of it!
 
Not crazy. I started with a 788 back in 1970. It was in 22-250 and it was great. It got me into reloading. I later sold it and I still regret it. Dehaus mentioned it in his book on bolt actions. I will check to see if he included a picture of which you speak.
 
I looked in my copy of bolt action rifles by Frank de Haas and although he had a wealth of information on the 788 it did not contain a picture of a customized one.
