Coyote Hunting Advice Wanted!

Does anyone have any good advice for me about coyote hunting. Any tips or tactics would be nice. I hunt deer and turkey but I have no idea about coyote hunting. There are lots of dogs where I live and I want to reduce thier numbers.:)
Any advice on location to hunt, calling( what calls and how long to call) , guns, etc.

Thanks ,
Kyle

Get a 22-250 or 243 and two calls- a dying rabbit and a coyote bark. Set up where they run and hunt and use the rabbit call to call them in. Shoot the big one first [male] and give a yip to stop the female and hammer away. The best month to hunt around here is FEB as that is when they breed and are very territorial. There are plenty to go around and a prime pelt can fetch some ammo money if properly cared for. Good luck.

Which cartridge you use is inconsequential, but if you want to save the pelts go for a head shot.
The hands-down best call is a rodent squeaker, then a cottontail squeal.
The best pelts are in Nov-Jan around here, then they start to mat up and rub in Feb-Mar.
There are books on setup techniques and calling available. Read as many as you can and get out and hunt.

Search the past threads theres lots and lots of stuff about coyote hunting in there.

I hunt them some and if I dont get one in every time I call I know that there are none in the area. I've been doing it for about three years and if they're around they're comin in.

The best and easiest way to learn is to go with someone that knows how to hunt coyotes and does it regularly. Other than that if you cant find someone to go with buy a video. A video can fill you in on some of the subtle things about it by showing you better than I can typing.

Basics are...

Find a good spot just below the crest of a hill
Sit very still
Call using the right call and volume (in the video)
Scan the countryside very slowly to catch any movement
Wait until they are close enough to hit and then call or whistle to get them to stop for a second and... BOOM.
