coyote called in

Buzzard

I was out riding my quad this morning and stopped totake a "break".
I got back on my quad and was sitting there just enjoying the quiet when I hear a coyote yip a few times...I did not have my calls with me so I figured I would scareit to death and try to copy a call , I did a few squeeks and squals then waited, after a few I thought I must have scared it away and just then about 65 yds away I see the 'yote and it is just sitting and watching me. Of course I did not have my rifle this morning so I just watched it for a while.
after about 5 min I decided to leave and when I turned to look on the other side of me there was 2 other 'yotes that I had no idea that was there. They was about 45yds away....made me think I got to pay more attention all around when out in the boonies (as I call them).
will make sure to take my calls from now on

buzzard, that is my experience exactly. many times i have called the "bliksems"(bastards) only to focus on the first one to show. this i have learned is the oldest most cunning. when you finaly have a look around there are usualy a few more, and closer. these are the young ones.

I've got a weird idea that yotes have some sort of 6th sense that tells them when I have a firearm on or about me. If no firearm- they'll show up anywhere and everywhere (prob'ly laughin at me). But, let me even have my old .38S&W on hand and there won't be a yote seen for miles.

I had a firearm but it was not for distance, I had a 9mm in my pocket.
I CCW a Kel-Tec P11 all the time, I also had another 9mm pistol but I would not try a shot that far with that pistol. Now if I had my .357 I would have taken the shot and been confidant of a hit.
