Cowboy action on CBS New Sunday Morning

Bill Geist is doing a segment on what looks like Cowboy Action Shooting this morning. His segments are usually in the last half hour from 10-10:30. Let's see how he covers it.

Saw the segment...

and it WAS NOT CAS. It was re-enactment with blanks, no live rounds permitted. The re-enactors looked like they were pointing firearms at each other, but that can be done with camera angles, so I'll not accuse them of unsafe practices. In CAS you shoot real rounds, at non-live targets.

Anyhow, it was one more way to play dress-up and make loud noises, if that is what floats your boat.

Me, I like to shoot bullets at targets for the sake of shooting bullets at targets. (And perhaps improving my little skill at doing so!) I don't care to dress up in Old Western garb to do so. But that's just me and I know it.

The people on the Sunday Morning segment were obviously enjoying themselves, and that, in the end, is what counts above all else--well, except for the safety angle--for a hobby.

Yeah - they were all actors putting on a play (Gunfight reenactments) Blanks were used and I saw them shooting at the ground in front of the actors.
