Cousin Shooting my Remington Model 1858: She did a good job.

She has shot guns before but mostly .22lr's. I happened to have my Remington with me when i came over for Easter and she gave it a shot. Her past experience with revolvers is not good. The Army ROTC guys had her shoot a .44 mag along with other ROTC girls. One of the girls that was with her got busted in the face with it. I hope I changed her mind about revolvers a little.

Still don't know why I caped all the cylinders when i knew that one was empty.

That is great. Teaching a new person can be wonderful.
I hate being nit-picky but she should have had some glasses on to protect her eyes.

We didn't have any at the time. I didn't intend to shoot it that day i just happened to have it in the car when i went over there for Easter.

HOLY CRAP WHERE IS HER EYE PROTECTION?????

I watched a guy take a chunk of cap into his eye years ago when he was shooting his rifle from the bench.

He got lucky, didn't lose any vision and no permanent damage, but he was pretty clear that the pain was a few steps worse than horrible.

Her past experience with revolvers is not good.
Normally I'd give kudos. Sorry sharpie443 Bad handling observed and not immediately corrected, No hearing or eye protection. Thank Goodness, we all learn from our mistakes.

^^^THIS^^^

There should never be a 'quick' firearms related event in which we don't slow down enough to be safe.

Very scary when she cupped the cylinder, hammer back and finger on the trigger. If she would have set that trigger off, she would have had a sore/possibly burned left hand for awhile.
Too, as mentioned, no hearing/eye protection.

It's great you're showing her a good time shooting, but...Don't want to sound disrespectful, I do not intend this in a mean way, but this video shows many firearms safety violations of what NOT to do.

Cool! It looked like she enjoyed the experience.

She would've been safer with gloves and goggles, but i don't always remember my eye protection either. LOL at the capped empty cylinder; made her look.

Cool video, but I freaked when she put her hand around the cylinder with the hammer cocked and finger on the trigger!! She's very lucky she didn't learn a painful lesson that day.
