Could this be a problem? (Barrel-stock fit on 10/22)

I spent a few hours today installing my Volquartsen action kit, auto bolt release, SS match barrel, and Hogue stock.

The barrel (which was a PAIN to install and I don't even know if it's all the way in) pulls to the right slightly when seated in the stock. If you look at the muzzle end, you can see that the barrel touches the stock on the right but not on the left. The "un-evenness" is very minor, maybe 2/10's of an inch. I tried unscrewing the stock from the receiver and re-seating the whole thing, but it doesn't help. I wish I could have a barrel band, it would most likely solve my problem.

The barrel is centered where it meets the receiver, it's only towards the muzzle where the stock ends that there is this gap. I would like to fix this somehow, as at 100 yards I am certain that the gun would be shooting off center. I assume that if I set the scope to correct it there would be no problem, but I'd like to center the barrel in the stock if possible.

Also, the piece that is screwed into the receiver to secure the barrel (two long Allen screws) doesn't fit flush like it did with the stock barrel. The screws are fully tightened, and the barrel seems to be fully inserted into the receiver. There is a gap betwen the piece and the receiver, where they were flush with the stock setup.

Sorry for the lengthy post, I am just trying to iron out my "new" 10/22.

Part B-66, the "barrel retainer", is what used to be flush with the receiver. Now, when the screws are fully tightened, there is a gap. Looking at the fit between the barrel and the receiver, however, it appears that the barrel has been fully inserted.

Question; Did you tighten one barrel screw all the way in before tightening the other?(If so that can cause it to be seated unevenly) Screwing them both in, alittle at a time is the way to go. Also, it might be the stock that is uneven?

I tightened the barrel screws evenly.

I love my 10/22, but ONE screw to secure the receiver (including the action) and barrel to the stock is not enough. I know the .22LR is not a heavy recoiling round, not is the 10/22 meant to be a high-end target rifle...but one dang screw?

Could just be the way things are meant to be. It's not really noticeable, but it's enough that the gun will shoot measurably left at any significant distance.
I'm sure I'll just zero the scope accordingly and live with it, I just wanted to see if there was anything I was doing wrong.

I'm still waiting on a Power Custom base and Leupold rings, then I can take this bad boy out to the range!

My Hogue VolquartRuger is almost complete! :)

SVTNate,
I noticed the same spacing on my rifle at the end of the stock. I'm using an Adams & Bennet barrel with a Houge stock. The rifle shoots great and I don't think you'll ever notice any problem once you begin to shoot yours'.
