I bought a model 18-4 with the pinned barrel. It looks like its never been fired. It came with box, cleaning tool, screwdriver and brush.
It looks as new as most gun shop revolvers I've seen. The guy said it was made in 1978 just wondering if that was correct. The serial number is 29K51xx I got it for $260 otd. I feel like I did pretty well on this one. Should go well with the 17 I have on layaway.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Mike, the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, by Supica and Nahas shows serial number range 25K0001-56K9999 were made from 1978-1979. The guy who sold it to you is probably correct. I too would believe your Model 18-4 was made in 1978. Hope this helps!

Greeting's Tech,

Close, but no cigar! Actually, your K-frame model 18 was
made between 1978-1979, as the serial range ran from
25K0001 thru 56K9999.

The S&W .22LR caliber model 18 is a darn good gun,
capeable of digesting thousands of rounds of ammo,
with no problems. Enjoy-

Thanks Steve it really doesn't matter just curiosity, whenever it was made they did a good job on it. I couldn't be happier!
