Could Bush have won the Popular Vote as well?

From a practical standpoint, is it realistic to believe that as the districts reporting reaches 100% and the absentee votes are all counted, that Bush really does win the Popular Vote as well? Could such a margin occur or is it just a pipe dream?

I sincerely hope so. Would expect the democrats to challenge and still attempt to steal the election anyway. Hope that George W stands firm and does not cave the way the congress has so many times over the past few years.

CNN said an hour or so ago that the pop vote is closing as more absentees come in. Not sure but I think there's less than 250k difference now, down from 750k Tuesday. Also 1 mil still outstanding. Sounds like if he got 1 in 4 he'd be there (or close).

This could be a strong case for not covering the election results until they are in fact ALL counted.

I do have a question - I wonder if the media big-buck upper-level suits did any micromanagement in the early call thing. One way to skew the election - call it early and people in other time zones stay home.

Hmmm, I wonder, hmmm.

Actually Gore was up 250,000 in the popular
vote Election night. As of Thursday that
number has shrunk to 97,000. With over a
million votes left to count that lead could
vanish altogether. Which is why the Democrats
are being very careful about using Gore's
popular vote lead as a justification for
reversing the election. This thing will be
fought entirely over the electoral vote.

More precisely, it is going to be fought over 19,310 votes in Palm Beach County FLA. It will be fought by an army of whiny, liberal lawyers, Jesse Jackson ( ) and AlWhore (even after his having said the Constitution has to be followed and the recount would be the end of it.).

A co-worker returned from a class in Chicago and one of the people in class was from the Florida panhandle. It is in a different time zone than the liberal southern Atlantic area and Pensecola is heavy military. He got a call that told him due to the high voter turn out there were lines of people waiting to vote. When the news began announcing that Gore took Florida it was one hour before the heavy Republican part of the state, north and west, had all been allowed to vote, people didn't want to wait, got out of line and went home. Bush lost many votes in that hour.
