Any Cougar 8045 .45ACP owners out there.

Are you happy with it, I've heard about problems with ammo sensitivity.

Any info. appreciated.

Cougar 8045

Mike, I don't know if this will help but,,, I have both the 8040 and the 8045. I have never fired my 8045 but I do shoot the 8040.
Never had a problem with it. I do like the Cougar line and hope to eventually get the 8000. ;)

Happy Shooting :)

Very happy with mine. I haven't had any problem with it at all. It is accurate and reliable. I trust it enough that it is my beside gun. It runs with any ammo I put through it.

Reassembly is a bit different, but not difficult at all.

I think it looks really slick with the charcoal grips from the "Cat-Pak".

I've shot quite a few different load through mine, but I dislike the trigger. Its the worst of my .45 collection. But then again, its the cheapest gun in the .45 collection. Never had a FTF......

My carry-piece is an 8040-F Mini-Cougar... Dad has a 8045 Cougar... love shooting them both... both seem to shoot any ammo we throw at them...

I'd recommend the Cougar line to anyone who asked...

It's funny how everybody's runnin' around braggin' about their S&Ws, Glocks, Springfields, whatever, to anyone who'll listen, but Beretta owners only pipe up when asked questions, and their responses are always positive. Maybe I could use this in my psychology thesis, if I that's what I end up getting my degree in. :D

Beretta 8045F Cougar

One of my first purchases (with my own money) was a .45 Beretta Cougar. My local range had one for rent and I was very happy with it's performance. The grip has a nice angle, it's solid and well built (mine's the Italian version). The rotating barrel design does soak up some recoil, so it is very managable.

Drawbacks include: size is a little large for a mid frame auto; only has 8 round double stack mags; muzzle flip is more than I have experienced with other mid-frame .45's.

Over all, I like my cougar. It handles and shoots well, with no failures ever, of any kind. The trigger is long, but breaks evenly. Biggest SNAFU is only eight rounds IMHO.

But I won't be selling mine anytime soon.
