Corbon vs. Triton

long shot

I'm looking for a secondary load to compliment the 124+p proload I normally load my G19/26 with. Reason being, I feel the proload makes an excellent carry load do to the gold dot bullet, but they go a little deeper than I like for home def.

I'm leaning toward the Triton 125 or 135gr. hi-vel. But, I seem to here more about the Corbon loads, is there a reason?

Another factor in choosing is I really don't care for the 115gr. loads do to underpenetration.

I normally have a G23 or 22 tucked away in my nightstand as my home def. pistol. However, my girlfriend shoots the 9mm better, and prefers it to the 40.

I'm looking for a good load that will penetrate roughly 11.5-12.5in.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance...long shot!

Try Remington's 124 grain +P Golden Saber or Federal's 124 grain +P HydraShok.

Actually, you are carrying what I think is the best of the best.......ProLoad!

CCV,

I thought the Hydrashok's were either standard pressure or +p+ LE only. If Federal makes a +p 124gr. hs, do you have a source?
I don't remember ever seeing this particular load.

The golden sabre is another strong option also.

Thanks, long shot!

Having used both Triton and Cor-Bon in the past, I recommend Golden Saber or Gold Dot.

By the way, you are correct: The HydraShok +P+ load is for LE only -- the ones available to the public do not have the stopping power of the other ammo mentioned.

I like Tritons and Cor-Bons...
In .40 caliber I will use one or the other.
The reason is that I feel the .40 needs all the speed it can get and the grainage is secondary. In .40 I want Over 1200 FPS. 1300 like what the Cor-Bon delivers is better. The 1350 of what the Triton gives you is even better yet.

The .40 is a funny caliber... Some Gun Writers call it a big bore - yet it often acts like a smaller caliber gun. I treat it like a "Big Nine" and thus want all the energy I can squeeze out of it.

You might laugh in the face of FEAR... but unless your armed, its a nervous, unconvincing, little laugh.

I've personally seen nothing but good form CB ammo, though I hear all kinds of horror stories about em.

I have had sone bad ammo in 357 SIG and 45 Super from Triton.

I pretty much stick to Fed/Speer Lawman, Blazer, Gold Dot, American Eagle, Hydra-Shok, Classic. I like the std Rem loads better than the GS BTW (had lottsa trouble w the latter, none w the former).

You can get the 124 +P+ HS from Bluegrass Armory:
