Just got done reading an article on Cor-bons new pow'rball ammunition in .45 ACP. Any of you guys use this and if so, how does it perform. I know they designed this to help some guns that wont feed hollowpoints. Just wondering if its availablility and performance.

It looks just like the BeeSafe round, just with a solid core and plastic instead of buckshot and tiny pellets. 1225 is a good velocity. This would be ideal for short barreled .45s like the Detonics or Ranger and the like.
I'd like to see this in a heavier load... if not 120 grain, then at least a 185. I'd especially love to see this in a standard pressure 230 load.

I wonder about the accuracy and sectional density of this round.
Putting a ball in the nose of a HP bullet is nothing new... with .25ACP its been around for a long, long time.

I have fired some of the PowRball ammo. It performs like all the rest of their ammo. Reliable feeder in all guns we used, almost no muzzle flash and very accurate. I understand it will be available in a 200 grain loading for 45's also. Other calibers will be following after they get caught up from the heavy ordering from 9-11.
