Cor-Bon or Buffalo Bore for my .454 Casull?

Which is the better ammo? I hear Cor-Bon ammo is loaded right to the edge of the pressure max which in this gun is like 60,000 psi. Has anyone here ever used the Buffalo Bore .454 Casull ammo? Any opinions on it? Thanks :)

I am not a fan of CorBon, too inconsistent. Wouldn't be my first choice for the caliber.

Buffalo Bore woud be my choice for the .454, they are tough. Penetrates extremely well.

I just bought a Bull myself in 454. I have been shooting the Hornady rounds $20 for 20 (240 gr) and just picked up Magtech ammo 260 grain (I think) for $17.99 (20 rds). CorBon was too high. (As if the other stuff is cheap...)

 Ive been shooting corbon for years...mind explaining to me how so???

Buffalo bore is pretty much the hottest stuff out there when it comes to getting raw power out of most any of the more major cartridges out there. Ive run some of their 357 Mag, 44 Mag, 444 Marlin, and 45-70 and have been pleased with it. They are HOT loads and are loaded to the max so be sure of your guns capabilities before shooting the stuff. Corbon is great ammo too...they load to a little lower pressures than i think youll find with the buffalo bore stuff(depending on the caliber), but its still pretty darn hot. Really in terms of whats better for your gun is what it likes...one load may shoot comepletly different vs something else.

I chronographed one batch a while back and found as much as 250 fps variation, shot to shot. That, in a .454, is too much for me. Had a similar situation in some .45 Colt loads (200 grainers). The .454 was out of a FA 83, the .45 Colt out of a FA 97.

I am sure a lot of folks are very happy with Cor Bon, just not me.

if he has a hand left...

i want to meet the guy who has touched off the Cor Bon 360gr @ 1500 fps FP Penetrator 454 load! I'll shake his hand, when it stops hurting!

the gun is a new Ruger Super Redhawk so I'm sure it will handle some hot ammo. I know I dont need anything like a 360gr bullet but I just wanna experiment alittle :D

I'm sure the 360gr might have alittle recoil. Also, I noticed just a bit ago that Buffalo Bore claims to not load the .454 Casull to its limit. Here taken from the Buffalo Bore website:

The .454 Casull is one cartridge that BBA does not load to it's full pressure limit. When loaded to it's full pressure potential the .454 Casull can become unreliable and unpleasant to shoot. At upper pressure levels, heavy bullets tend to jump crimp - tying up the cylinder. (wouldn't this be great in an emergency) Also, fired brass can stick in the chambers. BBA feels that a 360 gr. bullet (or 325 gr. bullet at 1525 fps) at 1425 fps is still very powerful, comfortable to shoot, and TOTALLY RELIABLE. At these levels, these bullets give up nothing in killing performance.
