I talked to Peter Pi of Cor-Bon today at the SHOT show. What a gentleman! He actually had the time to listen to a regular working stiff like me! I guess HE knows who pays his light bill every month... his customers. I had asked him about the 10mm Cor-Bon hollowpoints that everybody loves, but are not in the catalog. He told me that even though they are not listed, he does do runs of them as demand asks for it (there is that listening to your customer thing again), and that the company just finished a large lot of them. So if you want some REAL 10mm loads, look for these babies!

That`s good news for 10mm lovers. I bought 3 boxes of the run they did for Glocktalk. Shot 1 box up and am saving the other 2 for "special occasions". :) Those puppies are *brisk*. Ballistics are said to be the same as their 180gr.JSP Penetrator load but the JHP version kicks harder and barks louder if you ask me. Real low range .41 Mag. stuff. Marcus

It's about damn time ...

... Corbon brought back the 180gn JHP @ 1300 (IIRC).

Years ago I had about 12 boxes of this load, but over time they went the way of the dinosaurs.

I still remember cranking off a few mags loaded up with these Corbons at the local (indoor) PD range. (Had my Glock 20 at the time).

A couple of the local cops I was shooting with, hearing all the blasting, wanted to try them also. They couldn't believe the power this load had, along with the roar and flash emitted inside the building. But then they'd just been shooting their issued Sig-sissy 226s using subsonic 9mm range ammo, which has the recoil-impulse of a mouse fart.

I was a little afraid that the rather "stoutly" loaded Corbons would sour them on the 10mm Auto, but one cop's first question was, "where can I get a 10mm pistol?"

Then, "where do I get this 10mm Corbon stuff?"

Yep, the "full-power" 10mm can be addictive. :)

I am tenatively excited about this, because I need this round to meet (slightly exceed would be best) 500ft-lbs @ 100yards. If another 50fps could be coaxed out of this round I'd be ecstatic.

I'd be real excited if I had some documentation that this round made GA minimium. It has got to be close, and should be no problem with a 6" hunting barrel, but I need some proof to show Mr. Ranger.

One small caveat about that stuff: it has seriously hard primers. I'm going to go out on a limb and GUESS that they used Large Magnum Pistol Primers on that load.

EDIT: I'm not talking about Cor-Bon's other loads, just their special run of super-hot 180gr JHPs.

yup CB, that is the JSP @ 1320fps right? Will the JHP @ 1300 make the same ft-lbs @ 100yards. 500.7 is close and I hope that is in a 4.6" barrel therefore giving me more velocity out of a 6" barrel.

I'd rather use the JHP seeing that my 10mm will be carried in the woods more in backup/defense role and in that role a JHP would be better suited than a JSP imo. Therefore, I really would like to see the Corbon JHP's velocity pushed to 1350fps with some documentation from Corbon stating the velocity and ft-lbs @ 100yards.

Its a personal quest too, because I was told you couldn't hunt in GA with a 10mm with factory ammo. Maybe, I need to carry it to the next level and send GA dept of Fish and Game the numbers for the Corbon JSP and get the "official approval" :)

Are there any other states where the Handgun hunting restrictions are more strict than Georgia?
