Cops encountering gun control

I live in Colorado and heard from a friend in NY that the police in NY (maybe the city) are now regulated to the 10 round magazine capacity. Again, concern over the display of violence.

So much for law enforcement being (at least completely), exempt from the socialists.

I was back there for Thanksgiving

and met with a few active LEO`s I know well. They didn`t mention anything and the retiree orgs. I belong to haven`t said anything either. However, it wouldn`t surprise me if it was true. The powers that be were never thrilled with the hi-caps and Giuliani rules by fiat.

So what?

Of course I consider the 10rnd limit ridiculous but I also insist that police be no better armed than us citizens...

I'm not nearly as disturbed hearing this news as I am hearing of another cow town police force being issued HK MP5SD's ( !SILENCED! sub guns for those unfamiliar).

What's good for the goose...

Last summer I did some work at a Nuclear Power Plant here in Jersey. I noticed that the private security force had gilded mags in their Sig 226s. I asked them why they where carrying only 10 rounders, and they replied that "it was the law". I told them that pre-ban standard capacities where still legal, but they assured me that all mags over 10 rounds where illegal to even posses. And this was from "Security Professionals" responsible for defending a Nuclear Installation.

Actually I think it somewhat comical that the socialists are going against those that they feel should be the only ones to own firearms and be exempt from regulations such as the hi cap mag ban. I find the law dumb also. Besides, it is shot placement that counts in the first place.

It should serve as more proof that they want everybody's guns. Those HK's in the hand of cow town LEO's will eventually be next. BTW, how can a cow town justify those? Are they on a border town or something associated with drug traffickers?

Based on how agencies work, they probably had funds left over and some looney LEO admin desk sgt convinced the department they should spend the money or loose it, (lowering next years budget), by buying the same tools used by the ATF and FBI.

Of course federal police will most likely remain exempt. If I can get some documentation from my friend, I'll post it here.

In answer to your question Robert: No the silenced submachinegun case I was speaking of was not near any boarders, terrorist hubs, etc. It is right here in my QUIET little town of Fairbanks Alaska... and I guess they aim to keep it "QUIET"!

10 round mags/ LE

Guy's, the end game scenario is for NO ONE to have any guns, even the Police..........

This is the part the anti's in PD's around the country do not understand,,,,,,,,,,

They are not going to be given any more rights than a private citizen.

Only the Fed's will ultimately be allowed to have weapons, and this is for people control.........

This is why any LEO, thats for no pubic weapons allowed should get a life, and understand the ultimate goal is TOTAL disarmament, EVEN them............

Actually, the PD's MIGHT be allowed weapons. If you ever get the chance to watch a TV show from down under called "Blue Heelers". It's a cop show. Every morning, when they come onto duty, they 'check out' their firearms from the safe where they are stored. They have to keep track of every round used and god help the officer that actually has to use their firearm for protection. They go through a review that is really strict. To a point if they think you didn't have justification, you could end up at the very least without a job, the very most in jail. I realize that this is a TV drama. But, as with most entertainment, it has basis in fact and truth. Look to Australia as a model of what to expect here in the US in the coming years. All this assumes that we don't 'THROW THE BUMS OUT' sometime before we arrive at the 'natural conclusion' they have in store for us.
