Cool James Bond website

Yes, a great site, George.

Bond ... the real Bond (Connery) ... first came out as I was moving into adolescence. He and the Bond girls fuelled many a feverish and slightly sweaty fantasy ;) (Well, the fantasy about him wasn't sweaty or fevered -- except when my Walther PPK jammed at the wrong moment ...)

But I turned my back on Connery when he volunteered to be the mouthpiece/voice-over for the anti-gun group in the UK that finally succeeded in having handguns banned.

No doubt Sir Sean couldn't give a sh*t what I think ... but it gives me a little satisfaction.

I did not know this about him. D*mn.

ACHTUNG! ALLES LOOKENSPEEPERS!

Now I feel completely vindicated in my opinion that Pearce Brosnan is the best Bond.
Him and his P99 and 1911! No wuss little .32 for him!

You know, Bruce, I will never look at a PPK the same way again. :( Connery has carried a weapon in every decent movie he's ever made.

Sheesh. James Bond an anti. This must be a bad dream. Double sheesh.

I'm pretty sure Connery's not a knight, actually. I remember reading a few years ago that he's a bit miffed about this. The semi-offical leaked speculation is that he's admitted to hitting his wife. But Connery himself thinks it's because he's so outspoken in his support for Scottish independence.

Given his stature and fortune he's otherwise a good candidate for a title.

So, as far as I know, he's not "Sir" Sean.

Dear Sir Sean.

Come home, all is forgiven:

0722 GMT January 1, 2000

LONDON - A new millennium brings New Years Honors to three stars of Bond years past. The first James Bond will be knighted to become Sir Sean Connery, and the famous voice behind the Goldfinger theme, Shirley Bassey, becomes a Dame.

Jane Seymour probably didn't see an OBE in the cards when she played a sorceress in Live and Let Die, but nearly thirty years later the British actress receives an OBE, officer of the Order of the British Empire.

Sir Sean Connery - Finally!
A British newspaper reported last week that
Connery would be knighted in the New Year's list of honors presented by the Queen. It was widely speculated that Connery was passed over for knighthood a few years ago because of his support for the Scottish National Party, which advocates an independent Scotland.

But this year, the Labor government apparently set political affiliations aside and awarded the 69-year-old actor the knighthood for "services to Film Drama."[/quote]

Oh - and Brosnan DID drive a Tank in GOLDEN EYE... how cool is that?
Golden Eye was a very fun Bond movie - that first action sequence is mighty bold... the plane goes off th cliff and he drives that motorscooter right after it! Guts man... shear guts. I would not have gone NEAR the cliff. I woulda stood and fought it out till the last man was standing.
Woulda lost too - guess thats why Bond is Bond.
