Converting SKS to AK mags?

Just how difficult of an operation is this? And is it worth the effort. I have some sks 30rd mags that work pretty well, but that duck bill sure slows down the reloading.
 
There is a thread in the archives about this. I asked this question and the consensus was you can't make the switch legally. I know Norinco made a few sks' that will take the AK mag. I have one in a short para version.
