Is it legal to take an existing legal hi cap mag and alter it so it works with a different type of pistol (that came after the ban so no hi caps are available)?
I heard that it is legal to convert a mag as long as the mag still works in the gun that it was made for. If it will not work in the original gun, you just made an illegal mag.
The way i understand it is that if you modify to work in a new weapon and that modification prevents it from being used it the original weapong, you have made a 'new' magazine that did not previously exist, and break the law.
