Here's a novel idea. Why not simply see if you can manually cock the hammer (on the DAO Sp101). If you can, then obviously the gun has a conventional sear. Voila, no gunsmith needed (or contacting Ruger, either). If that turns out to be the case, then ALL you will need will be a conventional (spurred) hammer. As the hammer can be easily removed and replaced in the Rugers, due to the modular design......and the parts interchangeability on the Rugers should be very good (for the same reason)......you could likely just replace the hammer yourself. Try Numrich as a source for such a part.
I doubt that Ruger installed a completely different set of internal parts for the "DAO" version of the gun. That would require much engineering - for no good reason. I'll almost bet that the only difference is a non-spurred hammer.
