This may have been covered under a different thread, but I didn't find such in my searches. So here's the question. How much training have you devoted to controlling a suspect/threat?
Lets say you catch a burglar in your house who does not appear to be armed. You are covering them with a weapon, but they choose to walk or run out the door.
Lets say the burglar decides to lay on the ground and starts to make excuses as to why they are there or you see a weapon tucked in the waistband.
What if a stranger is simply walking towards you at a lesuirely pace and refuses to stop then says "shoot me"?
I guess there are many ways to address the situation. Basically, what would you do besides firing a round into the suspect which may not be legal, justified or may be legal, but the judge/jury ultimately decides that it wasnt...
