Contemplating Sig 220 Purchase

OK gang, as the subject says, I have my eye on what appears to be a nice piece.

Sig 220, .45 cal., in two-tone finish, Trijicons, and comes with box, spare mag, and both wood and Hogue rubber grips. App. 400 rounds fired.

Appears to be in good shape, and I know the guy who traded it to the shop as part of a deal for something else, and he is reputable enough that I take his word on its background.

The question is, the shop is asking $600 - is this a reasonable price?

Most of my experience is with other brands, so I would appreciate the input of any Sig aficionados.
Thanx,

Here in Ventura County CA new 220s with standard sites go for between $650 and $700. To me, sounds like a great deal and I'd jump on it.

Good luck!

That's a decent price for a two-tone, the Trijicons add another $75-100 depending on how old. NIB P220's go for about $600 for the plain-jane blued model; add another $50-100 for a two-tone or fully-nickeled. If it's in really good condition, I'd buy it.
The P220 is probably the best out-of-the-box .45 you can get. Exceptionally accurate, totally reliable clean or dirty and great ergonomics. You might try shooting one before buying just to make sure that you like it, I try to do that with all guns.

NO WAY. Stay away from that thing... sounds like trouble. In fact, you'd better let me know where it is so I can sacrifice a little of my own cash to remove this horrible atsrocity from circulation IMMEDIATELY. I don't MIND, I'd do it in the name of public service, and saftey :D So, where did you say it was.....

John O, you are without a doubt one of the most upstanding, civic-minded gentlemen with whom I have had the pleasure. Thank you for saving me!
Little shop in Vladivostok - just across the pond from you. :D

I wish you had beat the gun shop to this one. By that I mean I don't think the original owner got $400 from the gun shop. Try offering them $500 for the pistol. I bought a new P220 in blue without night sights a couple of years ago for $375 on a closeout. Don't rush into anything. Regards, Richard.

Greetings, Go For It!!!! With all the accessories that you mentioned; I think
it's a great deal. After all, 400 rounds
is just a "test drive"; if the gun was
properly taken care of, it can't be hurt.
I own a P226 two-tone with Siglite's; wish
my P220 and P228 were the same way. My P229
is the black stainless steel version with
Siglite's. So with that said, RUN dont walk
to the dealer; and snatch up that bargain
while you can!!! :)

I'll jump on the band wagon. At first the price seemed a bit high, but then I remembered you said it had the trijicons. I think you will really love this pistol. While not a bargain-basement price, $600 is a reasonable price.
Have fun,
Bill

I just paid $709 for the identical gun, new in box. 400 rounds in a SIG is utterly negligible. It's not even beginning to start to think about commencing being broken in. Last year I dumped more than that into a Kimber by the time I got night sites, an S&A magwell with arched backstrap(which you don't need on a 220 because the grip was actually designed to fit the hand of a human being) and Hogues.

I'd say it's a buy as long as you're confident of its history.

Buy it! The basic blued/no accessories P-220 is a wonderful pistol. Your price seems like a fine deal to me.

Thanx, for the input, gang. It has gone a long way towards talking my better half into this purchase, so I should hopefully be picking it up next week.

I can't say enough good things about my 220. Bought it new for $550 and the nite sights added another $75.

Plus, out of every gun my wife has shot (Glocks, etc.), she shoots the 220 the best and keeps all holes in the first three rings.

I'd never turn loose of mine.

The Sig 220 series in 9mm,40,357 sig,and 45 acp are without question one of,if not the best line of pistols in the world.

Get after it!!!!!!

Yeehaw!!!
Picked it up today, and got all the stuff I first mentioned, PLUS 2 additional spare magazines and a Galco IWB for it, all for the $600.

May just take the rest of the day off......

I just closed a deal on a NIB two-tone, 2 mags, standard sights for $600. Shipping and my FFL guy will cost me another $30. I felt this was fair 'nuff. Now I can't wait for it to get here. :)
