Construction/Service Tech -What and how do you carry?

My work requires me to dig and kneel in mud while making repairs, climbing, crawlspace work ,sometimes lying down, ect.I carry a Tarus ultra-lite .38 sp in a modified DeSantis Superfly.I'll eventually switch to a semi-auto when the $$$$ is right, probably a Kel-Tec p11.
I was wondering what people in similar work carry.

I am in construction also and wear a toolbelt. I keep a NAA mini revolver in my pocket at all times, and grab my Glock when I am not working. Between light clothing, the toolbelt, and needing to have unrestricted movement, I don't really see many other options. Plus, I usually have a nail gun handy if I do need to defend myself quickly. Fight your way to the long guns in the truck, right?

Only thing I can think of is a small weapon that fits into a pocket holster that you can 'bury' in your work pants.

I'd think almost any kind of holster would be vulnerable to loss.
Unless of course you're going to look at one of those weird:
'don't shoot me untill I unzip my fly' holsters.

The pocket holster stays put and is totaly comfortable and an easy quickdraw. The guns gets a little dusty but not that dirty.

I use a Smart Carry every day, and it works great. Its one of the most comfortable and versatile holsters I own, and I actually have a couple . Its very easy to draw from and not as slow as you might think. I can actually get to my Seecamp there, faster and easier, than I can draw it from a pocket. Not that I'd put it in a pocket, to much other stuff already there.

One of the biggest advantages to them is, its the cleanest place to carry a gun. I also carry a Glock IWB, and it needs constant attention as far as dust, dirt and dust bunnies go. My Seecamp on the other hand, has very little dust or dirt on it.

Depending on your build and type of pants you wear, will probably decide the size of the gun. I wear Carhartt type pants, that are cut more in a "fitted" fashion. I dont have the excess weight issue many seem to have, but the fitted part does restrict size somewhat, or at least whats comfortable. If you wear loose fitting clothes, like sweat pants or generous cut jeans, you can carry a much larger gun.

IWB also works very well. You just need to wear something over it, and something that fits in, in all temps. I've always got along well with an untucked cotton oxford type work shirt (company issue "Wear Guard") in the summer, and sweatshirts and fleece in the cooler/colder weather.
