Have several 12 ga in the house, am considering purchasing a new 20 ga...
Has been so long since I've looked at new shotguns, not sure what's available.
I would prefer a combo set(I have a Mossberg 500 12ga combo set), could be pump or semi-just would like to keep cost's reasonable.
So what do you folks have? Need opinions from the 20ga diehards!:)

What will you be doing with it? If it is just for fun at the range, the 1100 LT20 is a nice shooter with very light recoil. It is heavy for a 20 at just over 7lbs.

If it is for upland hunting, I prefer my 20ga Wingmaster at just over 6 lbs. I have had some other 20s in the past (Franchi and Benelli Autos) but they seems too light too me and were whippy.

These are just my preferences and as always YMMV.

What I would use it for...?

well, I would like a "combo" set so I would have a all around hunting gun....one barrel for birds, etc, and one for deer type game.

Mossberg SA-20. Excellent sub-gauge semi...

I have the Rem 870 express youth combo to benefit from a shorter stock. The smooth barrel for shot and the rifled barrel with rifle sights are just fine. Very well pleased as this gun shot right on the money with just a slight adjustment moving the rear sight up a few index marks. I typically opt for plain black synthetic. I really like the light weight of this 20 because there are times when I have other items to carry to the blind for deer. The gun is very easy to handle and carry with one hand. I really can't do that with some others I have. They need a "Claw" brand carrying strap.

In a way you have answered your own question. Big5 Sporting Goods has Mossberg® Combos (18½" Cyl Bore and 26" field barrel w/choke tubes) on sale every month for $269-$299. I bought two in 12 & 20ga. It's a no brainer IMHO.

the mossberg 500 combo with both a rifled barrel and standard barrel with chokes is probably the best deal but if you already have that in a 12 guage not sure you would want the same thing in a 20 guage.
if you get a semi you might want to check if barrels or even availble for it before you buy as alot may not have rifled barrels available.

16 shotguns in the house, 2 of them are 20 gauge, one of them (Win 1200) gets to do 80% or more of all my shotgun shooting including hunting. Cast my vote a long time ago. Nothing against any of the others that range from .410 to 10 gauge, it's just the one gun that feels good in my hands and handles the best. Go for it, if you are anything like me you are going to love it.

Thank you..

Appreciate your suggestions, currently searching to see who has the best deal around me...don't want to do online, because of shipping and transfer fees....
I probabaly am going to go with a the 20 ga. Mossberg combo in camo...I think!
Looks like the average going price is about 325-350.00(Have Dicks, Gander Mtn., and Bass Pro in area, plus a couple of local shops).
Thanks all! :)
