If a barrel is moderately pitted and accuracy is affected on a ball would conicals improve the situation?

This would be for an older CVA Hawken.

depends. i had a mountain rifle with the first 3 or so inches of barrel that was pitting and it shot excellent. i have lyman barrel thats pitted and doesnt shoot for chit no matter what i use.

you can get a barrel from deer creek for around $85 for the hawken.

Have to try it and see. Might do best with a minie or a Lee REAL. Some of those older CVA's are 1:66 twist tho. They won't shoot conicals well no matter what.

Got TC New Englander you can't even see the rifles shoots good with ball or bullet. Does it at any range.(boint-blank-100 yards)
