Confiscation of Vets guns?

At the risk of being told I 'm nuts here's a question. Has anyone heard that the FBI/ATF will be given access to VA Medical records to screen for vets who are considered "mental persons" under the current gun laws? This finding would result in the forieture of gun rights. This would be a wide ranging net, covering vets who have or are taking stress related drugs, suffer from PTSD, or any number of mental problems.

Anxiously awaiting informed response to this one.

WGB38....What is your source? What triggered your question?

A post on another board I check . It contained the following email.

I checked both links listed only the one at the top of the page works. I couyldn't find anything on the page that link goes to about this. I know it sounds kinda like tinfoil hat time but I'm a VA Cop at a VA Hospital and this sounds like something the shrinks htere would be involved with. I don't know if I should believe this or not but I thought I'd ask around and see if anyone else had heard of this from any source.

The VA has been going to a computer based medical records system the last few years so while poaper records still exist, a transfer of data like this would be realitvely simple.
It scares me.

WGB38 ( wheelgun? ) Thanks. Sumpin I noticed was that all new records are going into the puter, but not all of em are going into the jackets as hard copies. Makes it difficult to keep an accurate personal copy and also very difficult to see who has accessed the records. Needs more research to be totaly believable but definately worth checkin out.

This sounds like trolls and anti goblins at work...in other words anti BS. I'm going to have to see it on CNN, major networks and all the rest of the media circus before I believe it. If it turned out to be true, then its time to do some hoeing in the weed patch, this time all the way to the roots. That is if America still believes in the foundations of this America.

I agree I put it out not to scatter BS but to try and get more input. I have emails out to the individual listed as the originator of the email asking for details and any other verification he has this going on or is being planned.

I will say this, I deal with the shrinks in the VA on a daily basis(as I said I'm a VA Police Officer) and this is something those bozos woould stand in line to do. The ones at the hospital were I work antagonize the guys and then run to us for protection.
They are some of the most liberal #&&#$^@(&_*_)(&* I've ever ran across.

I'm not ready to buy this yet it just sounds right. Remember "Trust but Verify"

(tentative work in progress)

Let’s see, the new version (the one our children will say of us)
might go like this:

First they took the guns from all felons,
But I was not a felon, so I said nothing.

Then they took the guns from those who had criminal records as children.
But I had no criminal record, so I said nothing.

Then they took the guns from the police who had ever fought bitterly with
their wives.
But I never fought so badly with my wife that the police found out, so I said
nothing.

Then they took the guns from our military veterans who had a combat-related
problem.
But I was not a military veteran, so I said nothing.

Then they took away everybody’s guns.
Now none of us dare say anything.

The VA has been instructed to hand over medical records?

Think about this people. The single most sacred record in this country is a medical record. To hand it over to another agency without a court order or permission from the patient is soooo against the law that anyone doing so would be seriously libal financially.

Sounds like someone is baiting us for a reaction.

What will happen is, they will look into our medical records and find SOMETHING wrong with us. For example, they may say that since I served in Somalia, I may have some blah blah blah syndrome and is not sane to own a firearm. Or, ArmySon served in Bosnia so he's not sane enough to own a firearm. So on and on and on.

I asked my VFW Post Commander about this and he hasn't heard anything.
