Conetrol bases and rings - worth the price?

About 12 years ago I bought a used custom rifle (DuBiel) which came with Conetrol bases and rings. I had never seen the Conetrol before, and I was impressed with their light weight, their deep lustrous blue flawless finish, invisible seams, and projectionless design.

The next rifle I bought, about 6 years ago, was a Win Mod 70, Classic Featherweight, and I bought Conetrol bases and rings for it, too.

So, I now have a Win Mod 70 Short Action Carbine, with Leupold bases and rings, which cost a lot less than the Conetrol. And I'm thinking..."Do I want to spend the money (about $150, IIRC) to replace the Leupold bases and rings with Conetrol?"

Opinions, please.

Since you are thinking about it, yes, go ahead and do it. Functionally the you won't notice a difference, but not every choice we make is about functionality.

Unless you just have to have them I would keep the Leupold rings, they work just fine on a few of my rifles that have them.

Go for the Conetrol.....I've got some and they are absolutely the most beautiful rings made. "Life is too short to shoot ugly guns"

I bought mine around forty years ago. They were a bunch cheaper, then. :D

But, dang, they're pretty and they do work just really well...
