Condeleeza Rice for Pres??

Now I am a fan of Linda Chavez, but she seemed to get tired of the political crap. Condeleeza Rice seems to LOVE the fight, she is smart, very conservative, VERY pro RKBA. I would vote for her as the first Black and first female president. She would really under cut the leftists base, I can see the liberal squirming in pain at the thought!

And if they have any 'nads at all, the Republican party platform writers will abandon the abortion bit - Just go neutral. i.e., if you don't like 'em, don't have one. Heck, if they trust you to invest your own money (!), they oughta trust you to figure out what's right, or to at least know that you'll live with whatever you do...

I spoke with more than a few folks who favored the Republican viewpoint on everything but abortion, but voted Gore because they didn't want to see the SC packed to overturn Roe v. Wade.

I'd also like to see a move to minimize involvement in The War on Drugs - Move toward treatment, legalization and taxation, and away from letting violent folks out of jail so that folks busted with a little weed rot for years.

Hey, I'm a flaming Libertarian... I just realize that we've realistically got two choices for national office... The first party that embraces the "middle of the road" viewpoint will capture the country.

I know there are many people on this board who oppose abortion. I lean that was as well, but not heavily. It's a much more divisive issue than gun control, and it keeps many women from voting GOP. I thought GW had made a decent attempt to neutralize abortion as an issue, but NOW and other like-minded groups got their message out. Their message was probably right, but it's unfortunate that the RKBA groups could not have as decisively gotten the gun owners on GW's side. 61% is good, but I'll bet you that anyone who cares about abortion--pro-life or pro-abortion--was more active in the election.

As for Ms. Rice, I'd vote for her in a New York second. The Republicans should trot her out at every opportunity. If they were smart, they'd start prepping her now for a 2004 run.
But, whoever said the GOP was smart?

Do you really think she could stand up against Hitlery's following? There are a ton of ignorant people out there who love the b*tch.

Dennis,

I was thinking the same thing. Now there is some pair.
Keyes/Rice or Rice/Keyes! Either way that's quite a ticket.

I wuz mulling that over last week. There was something different about her...passion, maybe, but I didn't like the word. A fighter...yeah. That's it. Kinda like that token conservative babe on "West Wing" without the flakiness.

Consider this scenario... Bush-Cheney wins it in 2000 (The Democrat-controle Florida Supreme Court can't find away around it). Cheney and Bush does well as a team during the first term, (all things considered) and Cheney decides to retire back to Wyoming/Texas. Dubya then starts the campaign in 2004 with Condoleeza as his running mate.

The only downside is that we lose Cheney. Aw, maybe he can be Secretary of Sumpthinerother or Chief of Staff.

Interesting concept. I'd probably vote for her...

But she seems pretty young. Is she even 30 yet? If I remember correctly, you have to be 35 to become prez.

Dang, she wears 'em well...

Anyone have a little more info on her background? I know some, but now that I think about it, not all that much...

I haven't found a comprehensive biography, but if you do a web search for

(Condoleeza OR Condi) AND Rice

you should find quite a bit.

Ms. Rice strikes me as super intelligent, poised, calm, and smooth behind a microphone. I think she'd be perfect. However, I do worry that the dummies would say, "she's black" or she's just a woman". There are a lot of dummies out there. Just look at how many votes Algore got.
