Concerns if any, regarding MPro7.

Here's a question for all of you that use or is familiar with MPro7. I just started using MPro7 gun cleaner while using Militec1 for lubricating and protection. I use the MPro7 for cleaing only. I spray it liberaly on the entire gun as the instructions say. But just wondering if this product can or will cause any corrosion or rust if it found its way into some areas that are not accessible to drying like being wiped off with a cloth, like behind the grips. I read the ingredients on this product and am not sure if it is in any way part water base. Previous to this, I was using Hoppes 9 for cleaning and was not really concerned about it going into hard to dry areas since it looked like a type of alcohol cleaner that would dry off on its own if not wiped and not cause rust. But this one looks like soap water and want to know if I should even worry or make this of any concern. After letting it sit for a few minutes, it dries off pretty good on its own like the Hoppes, but just like the Hoppes, leaves a sort of slippery protectant film or something. Anyways, just need your thoughts and feedbacks on this matter. Thanks in advance!

I use the exact same cleaning/lubing method as you - MPro7 followed with Militec 1. I have never had a rusting problem with the MPro7 and have used it on numerous pistols. Like you, I find it hard to dry some nooks and crannies and often don't have the patience to let things dry completely before I lube and put it in the safe. As I said, I've never seen any rusting on any of my pistols doing it this way. For what it's worth.

One story to demonstrate: Used MPro7 to clean an older Sistem 1911 after a range trip, was in a hurry and didn't have time to finish the cleaning/lubing job. Even though the pistol was still obviously "wet" with MPro7, including a lot of the internals and nooks, I tossed it in the safe - figuring I would come back later and lube it. Of course, I forgot all about it. The pistol sat in the safe for about 1-1/2 - 2 months before I took it out again. When I took it out, I remembered what I had done and looked the gun over. No signs of any rust or other problems.

In short, I think MPro7 is safe and won't rust a gun. But again, I don't know if it is waterbased and I am no expert. Hope this helps.

I've been using MPro7 for the last year...stuff work great and my family doesn't complain about the smell ;)

MPro7

I recently started the same cleaning and lubing regimen. Remember, just because it LOOKS wet/soapy doesn't mean it has the corrosive effect of water. CAUTION: What follows is my opinion only, and I reserve the right to be wrong and humbly corrected if one of the chemical engineer types on board knows better. The bubbles are the result of a chemical called a "surfactant," or bubbling agent. This agent is also what causes the bubbling in soaps, and does not mean the substance in any way acts or reacts with metals like water.
But if you are really worried, contact Mr. Niner at MPro7 and I bet he can assuage your concerns.

Thanks for the replies guys. I called and spoke to MPro today and good news. It doesn't cause any rust and that is why they even have a dip solution for the entire gun. i also checked out their site and it does explain everything there in detailed. Whewwww....:)

I use MPro7 for cleaning followed by a little CLP for lube/protection. No problems with gunk or rust as of yet, but I'm using it on an HK and a Glock, so don't expect much corrosion anyhow.
