Im not in favor of posting this stuff for entertainment. But, I think everyone needs to see what our friends and neighbors and fellow Americans are going through. I also think that we need to pick up the pace and kick major A$?!

I am Highly Ticked off that they are doing this to my fellow Americans and Allies. We should be doing something more about this.

I know that we aint gonna meet there demands, so we might as well start beheading the people that they want released. Kind of a middle finger back in their face.

I am sickened by these events and freely admit - I WANT retribution ,.. may be uncivilized but heck ...... time these types were given some of the same.

Like what, and doing more to who about this? Some anonymous people in black suits and masks whose identities are either unknown or uncertain? If these people can not be found while they are taking hostages, how do you propose to "do something" about them?

You gotta mouse in your pocket, macdaddy?

Well, as with things like Waco, Ruby Ridge, kidnapping in Iran, Somalia, bombings Beruit and Saudi Arabia, I am not impressed by the cries for justice and 'us' doing things about what we see are wrong. Sure, we all want justice for what we see happening to Americans, but pretty much things stop right there. While we may want something, I nobody ever does anything about it themselves beyond complaining. Besides, just what is it that you think you can do that the military isn't doing? macdaddy, have you arranged for covert transportation over there to handle the problem?

Probably the only person I feel has any credibility in these matters is Ross Perot. While he doesn't do the work himself, he has been very good about taking care of his people (as in the Iran hostage situation) via hiring and financing operations involving mercenaries, and also helping to take care of POW families.

You know what, the beheadings suck and you are right about that. Try putting yourselves in their shoes. If the USA was occupied and controlled by a foreign military power such as Iraq, how would that make you feel? Would you take up arms against your oppressors, kidnap people, make videos of their people getting whacked in hopes of demoralizing their home population and politicians such that you hope they will pull out?

Personally, I don't see why a lot of non-military folks are over there except for the purpose of scoring high wages. They are very well aware of the dangers of the situation and are working for inflated wages because of the risk. They have gambled with their lives and some have lost.

Some are, some aren't. Fairly broad brush. My bride would disagree about the wage comment, I think.

People get killed over there for three reasons:

1. Straight up combat/bad luck. Battle is a chancy thing, and IED's can be hard to spot as well.

2. Accident. No explanation should be needed.

3. Stupidity. In all forms. Ignorance before and during the fact. Failure to learn. Going unarmed and/or unguarded. Not having enough firepower/ammo. Lots more. Pick one or several.

We forced ourselves to watch the unexpurgated versions of these beheadings on Al-Jazeera. Kept us focused and determined not to be taken, and to stay out of situations that would/could lead to it. When outside the 'Zone, this involved sleeping with tools, for instance. JMVHO.

Tallbill,

I know that we aint gonna meet there demands, so we might as well start beheading the people that they want released. Kind of a middle finger back in their face.

I'd really rather that we kept it easier to tell the good guys from the bad guys. "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you." -Nietzsche

Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth leads to a land of blind folks gumming their mush.

'It is good that war is so terrible; we would grow too fond of it'. RE Lee.

Jbar's plan:

Week one. Remove all non-combatant Americans from Iraq who wish to leave.

Week two.
Day one. Media announcements stating, "In 24 hours, the United States will carpet bomb every major city and suspected terrorist stronghold in Iraq." (Use of nuclear weapons is optional)

Day two. Drop the bombs.

Day three. War over.

Day four. More media announcements stating, "Any middle-eastern city tolerating or encouraging terrorism against the United States, or against any US citizens, or suspected of harbouring terrorists will be bombed immediately and without notice." (Once again, use of nuclear weapons is optional)

Day five. Political Correctness is abolished. Racial profiling, and deportation are legalized.

And that will be the end of this thread.

If opposing genocide and mass deportations makes me "politically correct", so be it. That kind of stuff is un-American, period. That's what they do.

When you start discussing the killing of noncombatants and innocents in earnest, all that makes you different from the al-Zarqawis of the world is your language and by what name you call your deity.
