Concealing a glock 34?

Depending on your size and build, i guess it would be possible.

Im 5'9" and about 175lbs with an athletic build. I CCW a G19 daily AIWB. I would have a hard time with a 34 or even a 17, without a serious wardrobe change.

Since the hardest part of concealing a pistol is the grip, I'd say the 34 will conceal about like a 17 since its the same frame. I conceal a 17 appendix carry easily under a hoodie, and decently under a loose-ish t-shirt. Using a Henry Holsters AIWB.

If I was going to get another appendix carry holster for a gun that size, I would do a t-rex arms sidecar or Raptor. They work very well.

It'll conceal ok for some folks and not at all for others. Being 6'2" 270 and wearing 40" waist I can usually get away carrying my M&P9 anywhere and everywhere. I find 90% of folks aren't' looking for it and don't notice anywho. You definitely need to be broader and bigger to carry the G34 on your belt anywhere. The extra barrel length disappears sown your pant leg but the grip is tricky. If you carry to deep in your pants it makes drawing difficult, if you carry to high and have even slight love handles they'll push the gun out and make an obvious print. I do have love handles and I find that if you can kinda tuck the grip under your chub and cant the gun forward a bit it breaks up the shape really well. If you're more than just chubby though it won't be comfortable. If you're skinnier I'd honestly avoid it all together unless you're willing to wear a button up or jacket every day. Maybe AIWB if you're broad and skinny enough but I can't see it being effective and comfortable with a G34. Another good option would be to do off body carry in a backpack or fanny pack if you must carry the G34 and can't effectively do so on body due to your body type. Where I live open carry is legal and depending on where I'm going I'll just open carry a bigger gun like that. You'd be amazed how many folks still don't even notice it.

Now regarding holster options I would recommend white hat holsters, or simply rugged's pancake holsters. I regularly carry an M&P9 or 5" 686+ so bigger guns are possible but I honestly believe you have to have the right body for it.

I have read a lot on the Dark Star Gear aiwb holster and large guns suck as the G34 working well. I carry a G17 often IWB with a crossbreed supertuck, 6'5 and 230 lbs. It's all about finding the right spot where the grip blends in with your body shape well, like said already the slide isn't hard.

I feel like a G34 with the very long barrel might be problematic AIWB. I agree that normally IWB the slide isn't the problem.

I would think IWB would be a problem when you sit down with a barrel length like that. I guess different folks wear pants higher or lower, but still.

One of the best reasons to EDC a Glock is that EVERYBODY makes a holster in every configuration for every Glock pistol.

All last summer I carried a Ruger SR45 under tshirts. I printed but it concealed well enough. I'm a small guy, 5'7, 150 lbs. I'd make an educated guess that it wouldn't be too much harder to hide the slightly longer muzzle of the Glock with a decent belt-holster combo.

Concealment is not about the size of the gun, or about comfort, it's about the right holster for you, clothing choices and a good gun belt. Don't forget to actually practice live fire drills form your concealment rig on a scored target under a shot timer. Most people guys they are fast and their rig is cool, but suck at life fire. This fast guy uses a TRex Raptor holster, and has obviously done some serious practicing.

You can conceal anything with the right holster pants and shirt. I am a small guy and easily conceal a 5" standard 1911, or my Walther PPQ 4" .40.

Like others said, it is the weight and grip size that makes things difficult to carry concealed. I conceal the 1911 better than the Walther so I usually carry it, the weight does not bother me but i need to get a better belt and holster.

I am 5'6" 140lbs nekked with a upper torso that is wider in all directions than my waist, so with a loose fitting shirt that drapes off of my shoulders, hiding these large pistols is not an issue at all

maddog, that is absolutely NOT true! You reside in Riverside county, and the current Sheriff is very, very, very (maybe one more very) pro issue, in fact you can put up to 6 guns on your permit, even more than what we can get in San Bernardino county. Both agencies are processing up to 400 applications a week, so get going. And quit spreading oh duh stuff. Yes, many CA residents believe they are screwed, and some are, San Francisco and LA for sure. But that's not the story for the rest of the state.

Start here, good luck and report back.

I carry IWB at 5 oclock...with grip pointed to and tucked into small of back. I carry a 229, and conceal it very well with this method. Ive also concealed full sized 1911s and my 226 easily. The grip really hides in the small of the back. Im 6'2" and 185lbs. With a slim trim build. With the right setup that glock should b no problem

I only carry OWB so I'd need a big and tall shirt to conceal a g34.

I can't poke a short little LCP down my pants unless I'm only going to be standing up.
