Concealed carryers

If you're going over to an aquantances house for a social gathering and you don't know how people feel about weapons do you still carry? Of course it's completely concealed so no one would know. Mostly you believe there will be friendly people but you won't know everybody. And you don't plan on drinking. So do you carry or not.

Why wouldn't you? Concealed carry means just that...concealed. My wife can't even tell if I have my gun...she just assumes (correctly so) that I always do.

Check your state law on carrying concealed into someone's house. Under Arkansas law, "[a]ny licensee entering a private home shall notify the occupant that the licensee is carrying a concealed handgun." Ark. Code Ann. § 5-73-306 (West).

My guess is sure

You need to check your local laws. In my state you will be asked to leave if the owner does not want a weapon there. If you fail to comply with the request you can be issued a misdemeanor ticket for $25 dollars.
But lets use common sense. Most PTC people are not looking for an altercation and don't want anyone to know they are carrying. You might want a chance to convert a person to self protection and advance the cause of the 2nd Ammendment, but, use common sense. Some people plain freak when they see a firearm. On the Nugent side of things, the Twin Cities had a rash of gun brandishing thugs showing up at out door parties and robbing everyone at gun point. Common sense and intelligence. Don't look for trouble and don't be a target for the bad guys.

As long as you don't consume alcohol it should be legal.
Generally I would carry everywhere it's legal.
In this instance you could lock it up in your vehicle if you suddenly feel uncomfortable while at this gathering.

I'm not sure most of our acquaintance's know we carry, but all my friends that would invite me or my wife to a party know we do (80% of the also do). As for the guest's, I really don't care, as long as the person and his wife know, that's enough for us. If they asked us not to carry, I guess where going to have the head flu that night.
Cough, sniffle, sniffle.

Well, I believe in Georgia it is a violation of the law to carry into someone’s home without their permission. Also, I simply believe it would be wrong on a personal level to carry into another person’s home without their permission.

We know you're a nice, even tempered sort-a-fella, no worries!

I did a survey at my house during an evening social gathering in the mid 80's. The city was ranked in the top 30 for size, and nearly that for crime IIRC. Nearly everyone in the room was a four year college grad, and half the group were women. When asked-survey said, almost everyone in the room carried on their person, car, or purse. Point being, I felt very secure in my home that night. Hint, the location was not Illinois or California...

Pretty much all of my friends that would invite me to their house know that I carry. Most of them carry as well so yes... yes I would.

Plus one for BarryLee. If we believe in our own personal freedoms and our Castle Doctrines, then we need to extend those same freedoms to others.
