well,I looked at some selfdefense bullets and decided I want a.....40 s&w.I think I want a revolver but I still don't know.If I get a revolver it will be either a charter arms pitbull or a taurus 405.My budget is $550 and under and I haven't completely decided against a semi-auto.Hmmmm.....I know what I,ll do I'll just get a desert eagle and scare anyone who messes with me!haha!

If I'm being held up at gun point I hope he's carrying a Taurus.

No need for a second thread you were getting good responses on the original one.

There are no revolvers chambered in .40 S&W that I am aware of.

If you have decided you want a single-stack .40, then look at the Kahr CM-40 and the S&W Shield in .40.

See which one feels better in your hand. See if you can rent a smallish .40 at a range before buying one.

I shot about 100 rounds of 9mm through a Kahr CW9 and the web of my hand was red and sore afterwards. Shot really well, though. I can imagine that a .40 would be worse.

Edit - guess I was wrong. Charter Arms and Taurus make revolvers chambered in .40.

You might consider the Kahr PM40.

For concealed carry the width of the handgun seems to be more critical to me than the other dimensions (within reason).
Caliber: .40 S&W
Capacity: 5+1, 6+1 (magazine with grip extension)
Operation: Trigger cocking DAO; lock breech; "Browning - type" recoil lug; passive striker block; no magazine disconnect
Barrel: 3.0", polygonal rifling; 1 - 16 right-hand twist
Length O/A: 5.47"
Height: 4.0"
Slide Width: .94"
Weight: Pistol 15.8 ounces, Magazine 1.9 ounces

I do not know whether it falls within your price range though.
I own one. It shoots reliably and accurately.

They offer the CW40 which is a little larger and less expensive.
Caliber: .40 S&W
Capacity: 6+1
Operation: Trigger cocking DAO; lock breech; "Browning - type" recoil lug; passive striker block; no magazine disconnect
Barrel: 3.6", conventional rifling; 1-16 right-hand twist
Length O/A: 6.36"
Height: 4.62"
Slide Width: .94"
Weight: Pistol 16.8 ounces

I can not find what the width of the Charter Arms Pitbull is. I'm guessing the cylinder has got to be close to 1.5" wide, since a S&W .38 5-shot cylinder is 1.36" wide.

Please see my post in the original thread. The more I reread your posts, the more concern I have about your being ready for the responsibilities that come with a concealed carry permit.

OK I may be out of line, but thats the way I read these posts by the OP.
