Concealed Carry Clothing???

Depends on the weather ;)

I "Always" wear jeans.

Warm weather, usually a tucked T-shirt, untucked long-sleeve. With this setup I am always IWB carry, sometimes just a .380 pocket gun.

Average weather: light jacket. Sometimes IWB, sometimes shoulder holster.

Cold weather: Heavy jacket, IWB or shoulder holster.

Usually I IWB carry, but if I will be sitting for long periods and it's cool weather I carry shoulder holster, easier to get to, and easier to conceal.

An untucked t-shirt, polo, button up, jacket or a sweatshirt will do the trick. With the right holster, belt and gun, concealment can be pretty straight forward.

Jeans or cargos and an untucked polo or other casual type shirt. That's with either a Kimber Ultra of Kahr P45 worn IwB. And of course both are .45's. In other words , just regular clothes. I'm not tacticool enough to wear 411 or whatever the cool guys wear but I figure I always have a .45 on me and honestly, what could be cooler than that

You have to learn to dress around your gun, for sure, unless you are content carrying a NAA .22.

I always used to tuck in my t-shirts (Army thing, I guess)..... now I don't, unless it is cold and I am wearing another shirt over it.

Ok. All of what you guys said makes sense.

What is IWB? In waist band? If so, what defines a in waist band carry?

I carry a full sized 1911 at about 4 o'clock IWB, two magazines off-side, and then I basically dress to have something untucked as a cover garment at all times. Normal daily dress is business casual so that a sport coat or sweater over a button up shirt does the trick, or moving toward the warmer months an untucked polo or short sleeve button up works fine. For casual wear jeans and anything else untucked over a t-shirt does the trick.

I found that the key for me was investing in a good holster and belt combo which made carry more comfortable and also a lot easier to conceal. In the rare instance that I simply can't pull off the IWB rig, I have a J-Frame that rides in the right front pocket at all times regardless of what I wear.

Summer: a Galco OWB with a polo shirt or similar.

Spring/fall: same holster light jacket.

Winter: if its very cold, I just throw a revolver in my parka pocket.

Ok so im getting some good ideas. Its kind of hard tho to think of what it looks luke as I am reading. If you have pictures of conceal carrying handy it would be great. Thanks

Ishyid, one way to get into the mindset of dressing around your firearm is to take a trip to the mall. If you're close to a place such as a mall or someplace similar with benches or a food court- just hang out and people watch. As you're watching folks, be mindful and ask yourself if that person could comfortably conceal or if you could conceal comfortably with a slight modification. You may not have to make any changes, or you may get an idea you like without turning into a mall ninja.

If I missed it, I'm sorry, . . . maybe someone else said it: you have the cart pulling the horse.

First, . . . most important, . . . has to be, . . . figure out WHAT you are going to carry.

Carrying a double barrel derringer is as simple as putting it in a small leather holster behind a Western belt buckle. OTOH, . . . a Desert Eagle .50 takes a bit more planning.

Once you decide WHAT you will carry, you can then look at the options. I have a leather vest that will hold two medium size revolvers or semi auto's and no one would have a clue they are there.

You can find options on Google, . . . "CCW Holster: Colt Anaconda" or something to that effect. Be prepared to go through several pages, . . . many of the posts will be the same, . . . or similar.

But seriously, . . . find the weapon with which you are the best, the most comfortable, the most intuitive, . . . learn to dress / carry around it.

Right now I've lost almost 30 pounds in the last year, . . . still carry a full size all steel 1911, . . . don't have any plans to change.

Go with what you are good with.

May God bless,
Dwight

I carry a Taurus 24/7 compact 1 o clock iwb.

I can wear whatever I want and its concealed. As long as I'm wearing some sort of shirt .:)

warm weather...............t shirt with an over sized plaid or hawaiian pattern shirt over it

cold....stick you gun into a pocket holster and then put them in your jacket/coat pocket.

just about everything

'Concealed' defines both itself, and garments that conceal.
Belt and pant sizing, over-garments, special gear for the gun itself; they all add up, and they all matter.

Or just wear a London Fog.

CCW Clothing

In the summer time
When the Heat/Humidity is high:
My choice for CCW clothing is a Pocket Holster inside the pockets of a pair of shorts.

Pocket Holsters come with a stiff, but flexible, backing material on the "outside" of the holster when worn inside the pocket.
Normally they are designed so that they remain in the same relative position when in the pocket (don't tilt sidewasys).
They also usually cover the trigger so if you forget and drop your keys in that pocket the keys don't get tangled in the trigger guard.

Obviously only good for small/medium frame guns unless your summertime atire is:

Overalls, parka, swim-fins, and a cape, which would allow pocket carry of any size weapon and would also , I suppose, tend to discourage potential muggers.
:)

You can go either way:
1. Dress around the gun
2. Buy a gun that works with how you want to dress.

I can't carry at work and I don't want 2 sets of pants, so IWB is not for me. I don't like baggy clothes. So, I went with number 2 and got a pocket pistol and holster.
