It is legal if your business is not posted as per texas penal code 30.06.
Even if it's not posted, if your company has a policy against weapons you can still be fired.

This is a company business that I own. Its a corporation that I am the president of. Also, if an intruder were to come in with a weapon to harm and or to rob, would I be ok to shoot and perhaps kill the BG?

The criteria for use of lethal force in defense of yourself, another, or your property are written in plain english in the Texas Penal Code, section 9.32, 9.33, 9.42, and 9.43

Beyond that, call a lawyer.

Since open carry is illegal in TX, you may raise eyebrows if you routinely open carry outside in a city, even if you stay on your property. Inside, you can do whatever you'd like.

So inside of my retail shop, even though I do not have a CHL I can conceal carry my handgun, but I cannot open carry it? Is that correct?

why on earth would you want to open carry? you own the business and its a retail store of some kind right? well, alot of your customers would be put-off if they walked in and see a gun at your hip, im sure it would cost you some business. conceal carry and then nobodys the wiser.

PC §46.02. UNLAWFUL CARRYING WEAPONS. (a) A person commits
an offense if he intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly carries on
or about his person a handgun, illegal knife, or club.

(b) Section 46.02 does not apply to a person who:
(2) is on the person's own premises or premises under the person's
control unless the person is an employee or agent of the owner
of the premises and the person's primary responsibility is to act in the
capacity of a security guard
to protect persons or property, in which
event the person must comply with Subdivision (5);

(5) holds a security officer commission issued by the Texas
Board of Private Investigators and Private Security Agencies,

Don't worry about it. This is Texas and it's your place.

Sorry, I wouldnt want to open carry that just wouldnt be right, just wanted to know. I would like to conceal carry for my safety and the safety of my employees.

well, alot of your customers would be put-off if they walked in and see a gun at your hip, im sure it would cost you some business. conceal carry and then nobodys the wiser.

That could not be farther from the truth, friend.

I carry a pistol on my hip, openly for the most part in a retail and customer service business(shoe repair, accesories, gift shop, and oddly a G scale train shop, as an aprentice)business. No one gives it a second glance. I've had a couple remarks, but those same people keep coming back so. Most of the folks that come in come off as yuppy types.

My way(and the boss's) of thinking is that if they can't respect the right to keep and bear arms(after all, I am bearing arms as is my right), they don't need to be coming into our place of business.

Personally, I think its a great idea, and even better if you can legally get your CHL for leaving the business. I generally unload ALL magazines, and don't have ammo on my person if I need to do any transportation on my own. Also, I keep whatever I have in a LOCKED case whenever in transit. Ticks me off that I have to do that, but it appears I don't have any rights till I'm 21 in my state
