Completely impractical....but way cool

So I got caught in a moment of weakness at the LGS yesterday, and purchased a Kriss Vector pistol :D

Yes, I know it's completely impractical for most anything, but the uniqueness and "neat-o" factor (especially for a CA weapon) got me, so I took a big old gulp of the cool-aid and paid for the beast. Due to my "1/month membership" in Kaliforniastan, I need to wait until next Tuesday to complete the DROS paperwork.

Pictures to follow once off the waiting period.

Yep...no folding stock and for CA approval it comes with a "bullet button" and as a "single shot weapon" because the Glock 21 mag shipped with the weapon is pinned to only accept 1 round.

Guess I'll be purchasing a G21 and a few extra mags now as well ;)

ONE round? Seriously?

That may be legal but it seems 'cruel and unusual' to me.

I think what you should do before you take it to the range is practice saying 'I'd let you shoot a few rounds through it if only I had another box of ammo.'

That sucks! Can you at least bring it to 10 rds without risking prison?

I don't believe I can legally load the extra rounds in the magazine in CA...however, I've been looking for property in more gun friendly States for a vacation home - and would gladly take it there to better enjoy the capabilities of the weapon.

this firearm does look cool.. however, it seems like its so much longer than it should be.. is the magazine really in the forward grip section?.. seems like a rather long device for such a short barrel... i think a C96 mauser would be more practical

Yes - the mag inserts into the front grip. The length is due to the fact it's really a civilizationized version of the originally designed SMG - and it's recoil system. Add the folding stock and the ability to go full auto, and the platform looks more practical. But again - this purchase had nothing to do with practicality....

i guess if we all bought only practical, useful guns, magnum research would be out of business, and all those people would be out of a job

Get out of the P.R.C. move to Az. or Texas put a 30 rounder in it and you can call it your truck gun.

Those 2 States are high on my list...went to UT Austin for grad school and loved it there and have always liked the Scottsdale and Flagstaff areas. Only thing holding me here is kids finishing school.

Would you also mind clearing something up for me? From what I gather from your post you are able to legally own this weapon in California but only if the magazines are modified to hold just one round. I thought California allowed 10 round magazines, what gives?

(I edited this post because I now realize that you already answered this question. I sometimes wonder who makes these decisions in your state...)

Also if you are interested in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area shoot me a private message with your email address and I can send you what's available around here. I know I know shameless plug but hey a man's gotta eat right?

wow...

one round magazines! those politicians are so smart. im sure the criminal element will follow all there laws to a "T"! unreal...

Yes, it's ridiculous, but all I have to do is get the weapon to another State and I can insert a G21 13 rounder and have some real fun. I figure I'll purchase what I can in CA and then expand my collection once I purchase a home in a gun friendly State.

I was surprised I could even purchase the weapon....stupid politicians.

Congrats on a very unique/nice/in gun!

None of my business, but I would literally take a less paying job and move my family out of the left-coast (same goes for the north-east as well). I am happily situated in the mid-west but hope to see the west (WY/MN) area soon.

-Cheers

Like I said in a prev. post....love living in rural northern Cali....but seriously looking for property in OR, NV, AZ, and TX
