Complete change of plans.

Well, just went the complete opposite direction from my post several days ago. This went on layaway earlier yesterday after I made the "mistake" of asking to see it, after originally overlooking it and going straight to the SP 101 and LCR's (still eventually see those in my future).

Yep, gonna give the new Colt Cobra a shot. Loved how natural it felt in my hand and then while dry firing, enjoying a very smooth, sweet trigger that feels to be in the neighborhood of about 8# DA/4# SA. I also like the fact that it holds six shots versus five, and doesn’t seem all that much bigger than the SP 101. Anyway, I’ll probably end up changing out the factory rubberized finger groove grips for some VZ Diamond G10’s eventually (as shown in the last pic above). From looking at them, they seem to have a smaller profile than the factory grips, which I’m sure will help at least a little bit when carrying.

I also went ahead and had my dealer put in an order request for the soon-to-be-released Night Cobra model as well. I know some will disagree with me, but I really like the looks and features of it and, if it's DAO trigger is better than the DA on the standard Cobra then I'm going to be in heaven.

Now to get hot on these payments so that I can actually shoot the heck out of it ASAP.

Hope you enjoy that gun. You may be lucky, because the one I examined in the gun shop this AM had an exceptionally stagey DA trigger and a SA trigger that was anything but crisp or "sweet". The finish reminded me of Charter Arms and had a sort of "throw in the toolbox" look to it. Loved the sights though.
