We are in the process of forming a new North-South Skirmish Association unit, the "Garibaldi Guards," which was a company of the 39th New York. This new unit will be an "Elite" unit.
This IS NOT A RE-ENACTMENT UNIT, but will engage in "Live Fire" N-SSA matches using replica Civil War Rifle-Muskets firing .58 caliber Minie Balls. You have to learn to load and fire THREE ROUNDS PER MINUTE and hopefully HIT what you AIM at.
Shooting N-SSA style is one of the most challenging and fun shooting sports around! There is nothing like the "Roar and Thunder of the Skirmish Line!"
We are especially interested in recruiting new members from Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, the Carolinas, etc. This is your chance to become a "Charter Member" of this outstanding unit.
You will have to pay for a uniform that is approved for the unit, your replica rifle-musket, cartridge box, cap box, etc. Dues will run $65.00 per year.
You will also have to attend the N-SSA's Spring National at Fort Shenandoah outside of Winchester, Virginia in May of 2012 and at least two N-SSA "Skirmishes" in the above mentioned states during the Summer or Fall of 2012.
