Comparison of SP101 and K-frame?

Just out of curiousity, how would people compare the strength and durability of a 3 inch Ruger SP-101 and a K-frame Smith and Wesson new manufacture Model 65, both in .357? A visual comparison suggests that although the Ruger is smaller, being a five shooter, it seems to be as well supported as the larger Smith. Just curious.

i have to agree that the Ruger is stronger and and harder to get a nice trigger pull. my SP101 has a pretty bad trigger when compared to my 617.

Quickad,

It's amazing how people find the grips so different. The Hogues that are now coming on most S&Ws are head an shoulders above the old S&W wood grips, and both are head and shoulders above the 2x4 chunks that are on the SP101, at least for me.

Thanks guys for the responses to my question. I really appreciate it. Smiths that I have had generally, generally seem to be "finished off" better than Rugers I have had but I sure appreciate the solid strength of my Rugers. In this day and age that rates very highly with me. Thanks again.

That's the key, Mike--"at least for you." I can't stand the Hogue finger groove grips--because they don't fit my fingers. If they did it might be a different story. They are also too thin across the backstrap for my tastes. Geez, I'm surprised when people like the same grips, given the differences in hand sizes and personal tastes!
