Compact scope for Winchester 9417

I love the rifle and its an absolute tack-driver. I have a BSA Sweet17 on it now, but hanging that big whipping scope on the teensy-weensy receiver makes it handle poorly and just look goofy. I despise hammer offsets and I need to change. The usable range on the rifle is way beyond open-sight territory and my eyes aren't what they used to be. :(

How's about some advice on a nice compact scope that's worthy out to about 150 yards and won't dominate this rifles profile? I hate to throw a 22r/f scope on it just for lack of choice. Any suggestions? Cheers.

On 30-30's and 45-70's type cartridges I use a Leupold compact 2 power scope. Very short and a small single ocular. Of course many people these days thing anything under 24 power is no good for elephants at 25 yards. I regularly shoot praire dogs at 100 plus yards with these 2 power scopes. Just one option.

I had this old Weaver K3 (3 power) scope on my 9422M for a while to see how it would do and really liked the scope. It has the fine cross hairs with a small target dot. This one came on a Marlin 39M I purchased last summer, but I see them on ebay pretty regularly.
