It is a lengthened version of the 1910 (Browning designed) FN pistol. It was 'designed' (adapted) from the 1910 design to fit specifications for Yugoslavia. (Mainly longer barrel and larger magazine capacity.) Finished and named as the 1910/1922 pistol for obvious reasons.
It was used by the NAZI regime after taking over the FN plant in WWII. NAZI marked pistol of this type are not particularly rare, but are desired by those kinky enough to celebrate that political aberration.
After WWII it was continued and sold to military and police organizations as well as to civilians in countries enlightened enough to allow such things.
It is a decent pistol; well designed and very well made. The sights are rather tiny in modern terms, the trigger is fairly stiff - as seems to be usual in an 'issue' pistol - and the cartridge is 'medium' only in 20th Century European terms. On the other hand, I find it far more comforting than groveling and sniveling.
