I have been thinking about ideas for a CQC auto shotgun and I was thinking some type of Benelli. Maybe a M4 or something Im not sure what. I was wondering if you shotgun experts could give me some advice. Especially anyone who had any experience with Benelli's I like em :). Thanks guys.

The Benelli M4 is a great shotgun, in fact one of my favorites. Cant go wrong with it.... I use a Vang-comp modified Remington M11-87 w/ Burris speed bead that i would also highly reccomond if you have the time/ money to invest :)

Thanks man theres just something about the Benelli M4 for me. However, my second idea would probably be a 11-87. You know thats Anton Chigurhs shotgun from No Country for Old Men even though anochronistic. It has that silver tube for the fake supressor. Put one one to scare intruders they will be like " O my God its Chigurh!!! RUN! lol.":)

The Mossberg 930 SPX has gotten a lot of good reviews from people who own it.

9 rounds ghost loaded - that's a lot of firepower.

There's way more good combat shotguns than good combat shotgunners. Be different, instead of going all OCD about the hardware, practice with a stock, simple shotgun until you're deadly.

Then, just about any shotgun is a good combat shotgun in YOUR hands.

I have with my Remington Marine Magnum 870. Now I think need an auto and might go with a Benelli. I dont like the 930 or SLP It would be an M3 or M4 probably. I was just going to ask what do you guys think about a Sagia 12G or something like it as an auto. I much rather have a Benelli but was wondering what people thought.

If you want a Benelli then buy a Benelli otherwise you are just waisting $ and putting off the Benelli you are going to buy anyway.;)

Everybody should buy what they want ....and nothing wrong with the Benelli M-4 / they're listing for $ 1800 - $ 1900 and I see them selling in my area for about $ 1,675 or so ...

but Benelli has a number of "tactical configured" shotguns ...just depends on what you want...

Personally, I don't need a tactical shotgun ..( I rely on my 1911's for defense) but I've shot the M-4's and other versions ...and nothing wrong with them. I've fired a Saiga as well ...and I'm not overly impressed. In Saiga vs Benelli - I'd take the Benelli.

I have a couple of Benelli's ( sporting guns - Super Sport models ) but they have a different mechanism than the M-4. But they're solid guns ...and both of them have fired at least 5,000 shells with no issues.

Dave McC is quite correct. But I always wanted a Bennelli M4 myself. Still would love to have one, but on a fixed income, it's not in the cards. Bought a Mossberg 930 SPX for a third the price and absolutely love it.

I know he was right as I retorted though I have with my Remington 870 12G Marine Magnum. Man I love that shotgun, I love shotguns in general because the just spit lead like crazy. I got some 3 inch mag #4BUCK 41 Pellets! That would be devistating in HD. I have a large assortment of shotgun ammo, usually loaded with 12 pellet 00Buck 2 3/4. I just want an auto combat shotgun and like the Benelli, Im leaning that way but am open to suggestions.
My favorite Buckshot loads--In order and just size ( I like 2 3/4" the best)
00Buck 2 3/4
#1 Buck 2 3/4 (This would be my favorite shotgun load if it was available in stores and I didnt have to get it offline. #1B is the best way to go its a perfect balance for SD/HD.
000Buck 2 3/4
#4 Buck 41 pellet 3" ( I like the 3" for #4B because it has smaller pellets so I want more. :) Plus that sounds like a devistating round and performed well when I tested it with a bit more recoil but not bad.)

I keep an assortment on hand also. Mostly, it's 2¾" 00 buck, either Rem or Win as they're comparable and quite accurate. I also keep a lot of #4 buck. Like you, I'd like to find a supply of #1 buck, because I think it best for HD, but absolutely nobody around here carries it. Online is my only recourse and it's a pain. My SPX is generally loaded with Rem 00, and that's OK with me for now. It is one sweet shooting shotgun. If it doesn't feel quite right remember, the stock is adjustable. I can't blame you, I know that if I had the funds one of those M4s would have my name on it. Still, I'm quite happy with the SPX.

I hear ya. If #1Buck was avaliable in stores regurlarly that would be my all purpose load. I favor 00 and 000 Buck as my load because of it. I still do have some #1 though. Like you all my shotgun shells are in 2 3/4" which I find plenty. The only ones that arent 2 3/4" are my #4Buck loads, they are 3" holding 41 pellets. #4 is small to begin with like .24 cal I think and way about as much as a 22. I want the #4 to have a ton of pellets going at the BG. Like 41  thats enough to ruin your day. I found a nice Federal load for them. I want a beehive with my #4 :). My 1st choice is 2 3/4" 00Buck 12pellet because I can get it regularly.

Benellis are great , just do away with the pistol grip !! Benelli does make a straight buttstock for the M4.

MOSSBERG 500 ....Pump 12 Gauge with pistol grip. Compact and easy to conceal.

For the less money it's well worth it.
On gunbroker.com I purchased 2 shotguns under $400.00

I like the Sagia 12. I think it's an incredible buy. Especially with the Gen-2 10-round Magazine by AGP ARMS. All you have to do is get the gas system set for the load your shooting (buck and slugs, or bird) and you're good to go. I've had no problems with them, and for $500 or $600, it's one heck of a gun.
Other shotguns may be slightly easier to handle and shoot accurately because of the barrel being on top instead of the gas system. But it's easy to get used to the Saiga, and it balances really well with the loaded mag being where it is. Also reloads are easier because of the box magazine vs tube. I prefer the Saiga, especially for the price.
The Benelli M4 is an awesome gun. I've shot one and loved it. Surely better fit and finish and I'm sure it's worth the money. But I still cant see spending $1600 or whatever it is for a shotgun when you can get one for $1000 less, carry more rounds, and reload faster, and still do everything the Benelli m4 can.

On the other hand. I'd gladly trade a Sagia 12 for a Benelli M4. :D

The toughness and value of the Mossberg 930 are practically unbeatable in my opinion. You can spend a lot more for higher prestige, but the 930 does the job with ease.
