I see retail price on it is $219 for blued with 3" barrel. Does anyone have one?..or ANY Comanche for quality comparison. There is a gunshow this weekend and I'm looking for a truck gun so want to go to the show with a few guns in mind to look for and possibly buy.

Other possibilities for truck gun are S&W model 10
Taurus 85
Bulgarian Makarov
Hi-Point 9mm
and some others...Ruger revolver, can't remember which model...
Taurus PT-25 maybe...kinda small though.

I would go with anything other than the Comanche. A friend had a .357 and the first time he took it to the range the cylinder burst. It lodged a round into the chamber and it took a welder (after all the powder had been removed) to dislodge it.

Odd. Myself and other Commanche owners have not been having revovers blowing up or many problems of any sort. The trigger reset is not always up to its best function. The 22s we have shot do experience ejection rod problems and sticky extraction issues. Commanches are not pretty, wellfinished or perfect. They work and in three years of experienced ownership, they still work. I have not attempted any competition shooting with any of them. Sub-$200.00 is a decent OTD price.

If the cylinder burst and you made the round inert by removing the powder then why have a welder remove it? Now before blaming that particular revolver or the whole company could the ammo been at fault?

I'm just reporting what the owner told me. He blamed the revolver. I've known him for over 20 years. If he thinks the revolver was at fault, that's good enough for me.

That and the fact the only gun shop in Indy that I've seen carrying Comanches (and Lorcins for that matter) is the shadiest shop in town is enough for me to stay away from them.

Very late reply, but I feel the need to inform people that these guns are pure garbage. Stay away from them.

Tell us more and back up your words.

First, I believe you, but you leave no explanation.

Sorry I didn't explain my opinion. I find that when firing in double action the gun will fire three shots, then jam. I have to smack the cylinder to fire the remaining three rounds. I took it apart and checked it out/cleaned it up and it worked okay for about 24 rounds, then it started up again; jamming after three rounds.

I took it to a professional (which looking back on it now was a waste of $) and once again, after only 24 rounds or so it started malfunctioning again.

It's not worth re-timing it, it's a junk gun.

It works in single action only, but I don't trust the thing; it's better to pay the extra money up front for a decent revolver that will actually work when you need it to.

Sorry for the late reply/ bringing this thread back from the dead, but I haven't been checking forums very often for the last year or so.

Absolutely no reason to bring this one up 7 years after it was originally posted, and more than a year after the last post.

Even for an explanation.
