Too available firearms:

I suppose that means that you can buy guns at all in the USA. However, looking at that issue, I see that there were problems.

Look at the effort to give the guy who sold guns to the killers, a minimal sentence - the DA recommended something like 6 month probation. The jugde gave him 6 years and now they are appealing as too harsh. I would have given him life as a deterrent.

Second, the woman who did the strawman sale - no charges and then she becomes a political shill for antigunners.

She also should be given life.

Guns may be too available if people like this are given minimal punishment for their actions.

Although I highly respect your opinions in almost every other post you've made/stance you've taken, I cannot do so here.

The selling or possession of any object should not be called into question whatsoever.

That these two a$$#0!$ (the perps themselves, not the sellers) absoutely misused (calling it very lightly here) the firearms is without a doubt.

If it could be proven that the two sellers knew what was to happen, I would gladly go for accomplice of "conspiracy to committ," etc. A good charge, IMHO & lock 'em up for the duration.

However, to only sell firearms (& legally at that - except for the one handgun, as the perps were juvies) should be no reason whatsoever to call for the sellers to be drawn & quartered.

They didn't committ the crimes themselves.

Be very careful here folks that we do not fall into the "the trap" that has caught so many.

When we, ourselves, start calling for the "hanging" of anyone who, in restrospect, misused any firearm, we, ourselves only further this madness.

Selling of a firearm is no crime. Misusing one is. Prior knowledge to an upcoming crime is. Not having that prior knowledge isn't.

Fine line, but we absolutely need to stand fast on one side of that line ourselves.

BTW, I'm only in TFL every coupla days & won't catch the heat on this if you care to.

None of the above.

Don't laugh, but I blame, first and foremost, the two little spoiled monsters that did it.
Second, I blame the federal government for several reasons:

1. Compulsory attendance laws (these two punks, if they didn't like the school and those who went there, should have been free to go out and make it in the real world).
2. Crushing taxes that almost obligate two people to work to obtain a decent standard of living, and to give whatever time is left over to rearing kids.

3. Government involvement in schools. How can a government that can't even live within its
means, or within its Constitution, have the hubris to believe it can teach kids? As the boundaries and definition of government power expands, so, too, do the boundaries and definition of what constitutes an education--much to the detriment of the children being taught.

The most powerful driving factor IS,.. without a doubt, media/movies/videogames. Followed not far behind by failure of school officials/classmates. Availability of guns comes in third. Trust me,.. these ARE the true stats,.. dont ask me how i know this, just leave it at that > :).

Negligent parents and availability of guns are arguable.
