Colt Woodsman Match Target

I picked up this old Colt 22 at the LGS for abt. $ 520. It had been sitting there for awhile. It seems there are not many people interested in those vintage rimfire pistol. As it’s often the case with older Colts, it’s very well made, full steel, nice blueing and a very good trigger. It has some patina, it’s far from new so I won’t be shy about shooting this gun or taking it on hiking trips. Made in 1963 and likely imported new and proofed in Germany that same year.

As is often the case, I went straight from the LGS to the 25 meters indoor range. I shot CCI SV, the gun performed flawlessly without a single malfunction

Great find.... I have a Pre Woodsman and it is, as you said, well made, still runs flawlessly and is stupid accurate.

Congrats on a great find.

Back in April of 1968 that was my first pistol purchase. It was used and I paid $75 for it. What a beautiful work of art is the CWMT. The reliability was unreal and accuracy was some Area 51 type consistency. Best .22lr target gun ever made. Better than any Ruger. I preferred it over my S&W 41. Great find...enjoy.
