Here is a NIB Colt Viper(Unfired). I'm quite proud of this revolver. Following are a few pictures:

That's a very nice handgun,,,

NIB?,,,
Unfired?,,,

How does a gun have that many years on it,,,
And yet never once was fired,,,
I couldn't do it.

Many years ago I bought a S&W Model 15 that was "cherry",,,
I only lasted about a month before I had to "test" it.

Are you gonna shoot yours?,,,
I don't think I could resist.

Aarond

P.S. I just googled it,,,
I didn't know it was an alloy frame,,,
That makes it Colt's equivalent to my S&W Model 12.

How cool!

.

1)Thanks for the compliments!

2)Since they only made these original Vipers only in 1977, they have become very collectible and their value has been increasing at a fast pace. So, I'm not going to fire this gun. It will go in with my small Colt collection.:)

Nice, as rare as they are and as expensive as all Colts are getting, I believe I would put that one in the safe! Congrats rare find for sure. :D

To me "unfired" and "NIB" just means I get to shoot it first. The only Colt I ever bought new was a 6" BOA which I shot the day I picked it up. It felt REAL good. It'll still be worth a bunch of money when I croak to whoever gets it. Untill then I plan to enjoy it. That's a great gun you got there, how can you resist using it, does your entire retirement portfolio depend on the extra value of an unfired gun? I say live a little, life is short.:)

That is one rare and beautiful pistol. You lucky Dog. :p

You have to have two. I bought a second M624 44 Spl and the last time it was fired was at the factory in 1986.

When I finally wear out the first, I will see about wearing out the second.

Nice Colt! I could never buy one of those since I'd only handle it with white cotton gloves but from a collector standpoint, it's one heck of an addition.

The grips are wood-not plastic! And, they are the factory original Viper grips which are longer than the similar looking grips on the Colt Detective Special and the Cobra. Only the Police Positive Special with the shrouded ejector rod, had these same Viper grips.

I assumed they were wood but the more I looked at your pictures they had, I don't know, a sheen that made them look like plastic.

Congrats again on a nice find.

Outstanding! Congratulations. As much as I believe in shooting my guns, I think this is one that would remain unfired . . . probably.

Wow! I'm sure that's a wonderful collection you have got there! I made the mistake of not buying more new Colt and Smith-Wesson revolvers back then, whenever prices were much lower than they are now, for these collectible classics!:(
