Colt Trooper MK3 (1st revolver) range day

Took the Trooper to the range yesterday, and boy I love that revolver. I shot it very well right of the bat, nice groupings. The single action is really light, double action I can't say I care for too much, but will get used to it sooner or latter. Really no recoil or muzzle flip, a nice heavey gun. I shot 38 spcl then magnums. The 38's had hardly any recoil, the mags, you could hear the difference, and feel it in your hand, but no real recoil to make you flinch, though a nice spurt of flame from the muzzle, and consideraly louder. I'm sure my wife could shoot it and and like it better than my CZ, just because it felt like it kicked less than my 9mm, especially shooting 38s.

I'm loving this gun more and more, and I must say I now like revolvers. I think I was more accurate with it than my semi auto.

Now, do I change over to that for CC, or wait until I get a smaller frame revolver, because yes, now I need to have another revolver. My poor wife, all she needs is me to get bit by another gun bug, or more like poor me, since she's not over me getting this one just yet.

I can't wait until the nex range visit.

Ya just gotta love revolvers!! Hey, did you have any problems finding your brass? A lot easier than with semi-auto's. My carry gun is a Smith & Wesson 640 in 357 Magnum. Now that is a handful with Magnum loads! It is controllable and gets a lot of attention from fellow shooters at the range. Can you say "noisy"?

Ohh, nothing like the day you shoot your first revolver. I love some of my autos, but no auto (not even a 1911 or BHP, or my beloved CZs) can come close to a wheelgun. Just wait until you try an older S&W. I really love Smith wheelguns. However, I do like my Colt Police Positive Special a lot (.38spl, small framed, 4" service revolver) and I do want to add a Trooper to the collection. Actually, any good revolver (Taurus, S&W, Ruger, Colt) can be a real treat.

Check out the Tucker Texas Heritage for an IWB that will work wonderfully with your Trooper. I carry a S&W M-19 in one and it is surprisingly easy to conceal.
