IIRC, that S/N 1 was a civilian model that ws believed destroyed. Greg Martin IIRC said it was a million dollar gun in his authentication. USA S/N 1 had been at the Buffaloe Bill Cody museum. I might be wrong, it has been a few years since the auction.
A Pal Of Mine In Taxachusets Shot The Dickens Out Of Saa Numero Uno Which
Belonged to a pal of his up in NH whom he met when both were students at Dartmouth. Acually it belonged to his pal's Daddy but they shot it all the time, mostly with 45SCHOFIELD ammo as they both had large supplies of that cartridge which was available in quantity from suplus dealers in those days.
