I have a Colt Police Positive .38 Serial # 14077 on frame. It also says New Police on the frame above the grips. Patent dates on barrel are Aug 5th 1884, June 5th 1900, July 4th 1905 Any information will be appreciated.

The Police Positive .38 was introduced in 1905, with a new serial number series beginning with 1. Your revolver was made in 1907. The older "Colt's New Police" marking on the frame was retained until c. 1909.

IIRC, those guns were chambered for .38 Colt New Police, aka .38 S&W. .38 Special will not fit.

Value depends entirely on the amount of remaining original factory finish and on the mechanical condition.

Values run from a 10% finish gun at $165 to $950 for one in 98%.
