The newly released Pythons' serial numbers start with "PY", correct?
I have always wanted a Royal Blue Colt Python, and decided to pick one up the other day. It came in a new blue plastic box, paperwork, and is in never-fired NIB condition. The serial number is PY83XX. The guy at the shop looked up the serial number and based on the "83XX" number, he put it in the 1959 manufacture date range. I suppose he didn't know the prefix "PY" is indicative of its "new" status.
I DO have a newly released Python, and NOT a 1959 model, right? I guess it's possible the previous owner put it on consignment in a new box, cause he didn't have the original, but I HIGHLY doubt that.
I know the old models are more highly sought after, but I REALLY like my Python.
