Colt Python Price Check

I have a chance to pick up a Colt Python from a fellow shooter. The gun has 6" BBl and is chromed. Has the original box and a set of the nicest grips I have ever seen on a handgun. The gun is in 99% condition with no marks or wear of any kind. It has been shot very little. The gun ws made in the early 80's.

The guy wants $650 for it.

Not being a wheelgunner an I doing OK.

Just barely missed the Anaconda he had :mad:
 
I would say rush him the funds. My blue book lists nickle plated Python as discontinued in '85. Introduced in '85 was polished stainless. Is your gun possibly stainless? Something like either gun would be listed for $1000 or more.
 
Python Price Check?

Colt Python factory nickel, w/6" barrel
in LNIB condition would fetch close to
1K here in central BamaLand. However,
my dealer quite possibly would only
ask $750, at the max?

Buy it. Sounds like a great deal. I bought my 1980 Python Nickel 6 inch in like new shape (no box, though) for 675, and I thought I got an incredible deal.
 
It's a very good deal. I just got $785 for a fired 6" nickle Python from 1975. A few marks on the gun, but very good condition. Yours sounds better.
