What is the general consensus among you guys regarding the Python Elite Models. I know a fellow that has one that is stainless with a 6" barrel for $895.00. I am new to pistols in general and have never owned a revolver, but every person that I know tells me the Colt Python is the cadillac of the .357 revolver. Just wondering what you more educated and experienced folks have to say on the subject.

I want to shoot IDPA in CDP and the basic Revolver class.

Cadillac isn't really the right word. More like Bentley. Is there a smiley for drool? Just my impression, the only Colt I've shot is a nickel Detective Special and it was :BUTTER:
